It may seem insignificant, but the ringtones or the music is copyrighted and it is illegal to acquire or distribute copyrighted works without the permission of the copyright holder.

I have compiled a list of some of the sound we hear regularly copyright and may inadvertently capture while recording sound effects:

1. Music - Music is everywhere: radio, television, stereo, background music in shops, restaurants and bars, computer games, toys, gadgets, sports events and more.

2. The text - the most modern mobile phones have a range of ringtones recorded, and many are protected by copyright. Even the sound of an old phone "Bell" is probably a record protected by copyright.
